The aim of our volunteer service is to promote the spirit of "help the others to help themselves". Through helping others, the volunteers may benefit themselves from gaining various techniques and enhancing their social skills.

The volunteer team was formed in March, 2000. The services that are provided by the volunteers include: on duty in the Computer Room and Multi-media Corner and leading group programmes in the Centre. Volunteers are keen to assist and support other users in every aspect, such as answering queries on general computer operation in the Computer Room, assisting users to use the facilities in Multi-media Corner and helping users to borrow and return multi-media materials, etc. To help other users to identify who are our volunteers, every volunteer on duty is required to wear a volunteer-card with name and registered number on it.

We provide regular training programmes and volunteer activities for the volunteers to enchance their capabilities and let them share their experience. All these activities can help strengthen the volunteer skills and increase the cohesiveness among volunteers.
